Scavenger hunts are an ideal activity for young children as they familiarise the pupils with descriptive words and opposites. Collecting natural materials the pupils each have a list of things that they must find. There are many scvenger hunts available, including the 'colour hunt', an 'autumn hunt', the 'materials hunt', the 'descriptive hunt' and the 'texture hunt'. Once all of the materials have been collected pupils use their collection for further activities such as poetry, descriptions using alliteration or drawing.
