Orchid Walk

This area is appropriately named as in spring it is rich in a variety of marsh orchid. This orchid is rare in many parts of the country but is quite numerous here at Pelham. This rough, partially disturbed grassland is also home to the bee orchid (Pelham's symbol!), glaucous sedge, lesser hawkbit and autumn hawkbit to name a few!

The most recent introduction to this area was the Pelham Orchard, a selection of local varieties of fruit trees including the conference pear and the King Alfred apple.
