The Scrape

The Scrape was originally designed as a shallow lagoon area to attract migrating birds, particularly waders.

Colourful displays of marsh marigolds can be seen on the banks in the spring. Later in the year flowers include great willowherb, ribbed melilot and common spotted orchid.

Now used for pond dipping, children regularly find water boatman, diving beetles and tadpoles.
